Below is a collection of logos and avatars done for a wide variety of clients ranging from an educational Career and Employment Service Council to a discount paintball dealer. For me the logo is the equivalent to the sign boards of the past. It needs to be simple yet catch your eye. And it needs to illustrate the personality of the business. Before I create any logo I sit with the client and learn about their product, business practices and goals.
Maybe it is because I grew up learning to draw from a series of Ed Emberley books but I always start with a black and white version of the logo first. This creates a strong foundation as color is added. It is this practice that gives my logos and illustrations a solid timeless feel that works both for print and online applications.
