I have had the opportunity to work on projects in the lithium battery and energy storage sector. Below are some identity explorations.
NINE LIVES LITHIUM BATTERIES
Nine Lives Lithium Batteries was based on the idea of re-purposing batteries that have lost their initial power capacity for their 1st life usage, but still have enough battery life left for a 2nd or 3rd life.
The design is an homage to the original Nine Lives battery by Eveready. The trademark for the name was available, so we explored how to make it current and fun for today's marketplace. By redesigning the cat character and using bright colors, the design moves beyond the traditional battery language and creates fun and accessible branding visuals.
THUNDERBIRD LITHIUM BATTERIES
Again, this design was based on the idea that you could re-purpose lithium batteries and give them new life, like a phoenix (or Thunderbird) rising from the ashes.
This design has a more traditional battery look and feel, utilizing lightning visual cues and metal and stone textures to give it a feel of solidity and power.
BIG Energy (Batteries International Group)
BIG Energy is a BESS startup where I had the opportunity to create its identity and branding system. The challenge was to create a logo that reflects the company's personality and would work in a variety of applications, from avatar to BESS modules. The icon I created illustrates the flow of energy and provides a clean, abstract design that is identifiable but still aesthetically pleasing for large applications.
